The Soviet Peace Fund allocated a grant amounting to 150 thousand rubles for the development of the GPV project

At the initiative of the USSR Federation of cosmonautics, a public Committee on non-rocket space transport systems was created in 1986 in Gomel. Anatoly Yunitskiy became its Chairman. Many enthusiasts were involved in the development of technical and philosophical aspects of GPV (General Planetary Vehicle) . And by April 1988, when the scientific and technical conference "Non-rocket industrialization of space" was held in Gomel, Yunitskiy's project has already been widespread across the country. It resulted in the number of guests, including pilot-cosmonauts. In addition to "Yunitskiy's wheel" they discussed other ideas. However, the participants of the conference recognized GPV as the most promising one.

To add dynamics to the project, the Byelorussian Council of Ministers has taken a decision to establish the Foundation "Star world". Thus, each of us can help Yunitskiy, now staff Director of the same-name Center at the Fund, to overcome the notorious "barrier". Voluntary contributions are accepted. The first 150 thousand rubles came immediately from the Soviet Peace Fund.

The article "Lifebuoy or a chance for descendants" (in Russian) published in the journal "Smena" No. 22 of 1988, reads about the author of the GPV project. Yunitskiy is looking for a "lifebuoy" not for himself, not for his loved ones, but for the entire humankind. In fact, GPV is a new ethics. Now in the technical presentation only. It is a sprout of such thinking that is so necessary for people to have a future.
