Participation of the official representative of "Unitsky SPC" in the first meeting of the inter-departmental working group devoted to the problems of the high-speed off-street transportation held at the RF Ministry of Transportation

On October 23, 2001 a representative of "Unitsky SPC" took part in the first meeting of the inter-departmental working group on the problems of the high-speed off-street transportation (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Group") set up in accordance with the resolution of the scientific and practical conference: "On the Development Prospects of the High-speed Off-street Transportation" which took place in the Russian Ministry of Transportation (Mintrans of Russia) on July 24, 2001.

In the course of its first meeting the Working Group approved:

• Members of the Working Group;
• Provisions on the Working Group;
• Work Plan for the 2001 - 2002 period;
• Measures aimed at the implementation of the Resolution of the scientific and practical conference of July 24, 2001;
• Timetable of the implementation of measures approved by the resolution of the Russian Ministry of Transportation of September 25, 2001.

Members of the Working Group include: experts of Mintrans of Russia, Gosstroy of Russia, Ministry of Industry and Science of Russia, other interested ministries and departments, scientists and professionals in the sphere of design, construction and operation of subway and other modes of high-speed off-street transportation. A representative of "Unitsky SPC" was also included in the Working Group.

The aim of the Working Group is to assist the executive bodies in the formulation of the state policy aimed at the development and promotion of high-speed off-street modes of urban and suburban passenger transportation.

Practical activities of the Working Group scheduled for November 2001 envisage acquaintance with the operational testing unit of the UST in the town of Ozyory.
