SkyWay team is a reliable alloy of theoreticians with practitioners. Today's hero is Anatoly Kachurovskiy, an experienced Assistant to the General Designer, whose service record in Belarus and abroad is quite impressive. In SkyWay Technologies Co. we openly discuss internal achievements and challenges for the team, therefore you will learn from the interview:

  • about the path from medals of the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements to string technologies;
  • about the role of the project in his life and his personal judgement on it;
  • how he works with the General Designer Anatoly Yunitskiy.

Translation of the video:

Mikhail Kirichenko: Good day! Here is Mikhail Kirichenko. You are watching SkyWay news, where we tell you about the developments and implementation of breakthrough transport technologies. We offer to your attention another interview with one of the prominent people that works in our team. Our today's guest is Anatoly Kachurovskiy, Assistant to the General Designer of SkyWay Technologies Co. Anatoly Yunitskiy. He is in charge of designing, USSR State Prize winner, participant and medal winner of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements for scientific research developments in the field of program software for automated designing and so on. Everything is rather complicated. Anatoly, please tell us yourself in brief about your education and about your achievements.

Anatoly Kachurovskiy: I graduated from the Brest Institute of civil engineering with a degree in designing. I've been working for many years on development and designing of complex objects. My specialty is the development of complex designing solutions for metal and reinforced concrete structures. Within the last ten years I came to the conclusion that designing a project is a good thing, but it is more interesting to develop some complex structure, produce and assemble it on-site. From the project to its implementation. The objects that I have done during these years are quite serious and large. They are in Moscow, Kaliningrad, Minsk and Brest, my home city. For example, in Kaliningrad we have made a project of the Museum of the World ocean. It is a large glass sphere with a 42-meter diameter. It contains 7 aquariums with various types of fish. It has highly complex structures inside. We had to take some innovative technical solutions. As regards Minsk, of of the largest designed objects is the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee. It is also shaped as a sphere. We have done these design solutions about 7 years ago. It is also an office complex of the Belarusian potassium Company. Now it is some bank there. The building has a large crystal. By the way, it has the highest atrium in Europe. It is 40-meter high without a floor slab. These are free standing glass facade walls 40 meters high. The next object is a high-rise Gazprom complex located on Eastern bus terminal. Initially the project was prepared by a major Company from Saint Petersburg. The customer has invited me as an expert and designer of a new project solution. I had to make a new project solution, because the version offered from Saint Petersburg had not quite an adequate solution. Finally, this project with a 198-meter high skyscraper was stopped and it is in a freezing stage so far. Last year the project Dana Mall was started with dome-shaped metal structures.

M.K.: In the East of Minsk now.

A.K.: Yes. It should be commissioned soon. Then the trade center Hippo, also with metal structures for a dome and atriums. You should see it. Well, there is also the Museum of the Great Patriotic war with metal structures and so on.

M.K.: Your service record is very impressive, at least in Belarus. I heard you were building something else in Georgia and other countries.

A.K.: Yes. Our last object, which was recently finished, is in Georgia, in Tbilisi. It is a Five Star luxury Hotel Rixos. The customers there are from Turkey and Georgia. The hotel is also shaped as a sphere, rather half of the sphere. We had to take there not only high-standard designing solution. We also had to produce metal structures, deliver them to Tbilisi and assemble them in a nice design. Last week I came back from Tbilisi. The customers invited me to have a look at the final result. They liked it, they are grateful and want to continue cooperation on other projects.

M.K.: Thank you very much. Your expert opinion is very important and valuable for us. It would be particularly interesting to hear your opinion about the project of the General Designer of the SkyWay Technologies Co. Anatoly Yunitskiy and his team as a whole. The SkyWay project. It is particularly interesting, because a court trial is in progress now on the protection of honor and dignity of our General Designer after one Belarusian online media called him "a dreamer", who used to read books by the Russian science fiction writer Kir Bulychev, and a man, who is building false villages and pyramids. What is your expert opinion on these issies?

A.K.: My opinion is the following. I joined the project and got acquainted with Anatoly some time ago, just because I saw that, firstly, it is a new transport system. The transport problem exists now in the whole world, because airplanes, motor-vehicles and rail transport do not already meet the present requirements. For example, airplanes are good, it may take only 2-3 hours to fly. However, the way to the airport and registration may take half a day. Rail transport is also good, but it was designed more than 100 years ago and also has its disadvantages. Motorization has even more drawbacks: traffic jams, parking problems, environmental damage, etc. This project has its idea. I read about string transport long ago in the journal "Tekhnika Molodezhi". I liked this idea. I understood it should be implemented. Certainly, it is not so easy to build it. That was the reason of my joining the Company. I am interested not only in designing as it is, I am interested in the final result.

M.K.: It is clear that you are a practical man, therefore your opinion is important for us.

A.K.: I am interested to see my structure in operation after its production. Here there is the project that interested me. It is necessary to apply new technologies and new materials here. New design solutions should be based on all these factors. There should be a result eventually. I've been working with the team and the General Designer for long now. It is a very interesting project. Yes, everything is not so simple, certain problems appear. It is impossible to do without them. But here the whole team advances step by step to the goal.

M.K.: So we are not simply dreaming.

A.K.: No. Not dreaming. I said in the beginning that the last 10 years I am not just doing projects. Any project can be called "a pipe dream". I am working on the project, manufacture and final result. That's why I came here. To see the final result of the whole team's work. It will be very interesting to see it. Separate elements of this transport system are already in operation. Some elements need perfection. It is natural. It will be interesting to see it all in complex. And we are moving step by step towards the final goal.

M.K.: Thank you very much. I have no doubts that with the help of such prominent experts like you, Anatoly, we shall reach our goal by the scheduled deadline.
