Production news: lathe/turning machine at service in SkyWay

We offer to your attention another video report from the production workshop of SkyWay Technologies Co., as well as an interview with its Manager Dmitry Zabrodsky, in which he tells about the recent news on his production facilities that go on getting the most sophisticated equipment and qualified personnel. It helps to localize the creation of SkyWay rolling stock, to reduce its prime cost and dependence on cooperation with contractors.

The latest acquisition for our production unit was a 4-axis lathe/turning center (processing machine) with CNC (computer numerical control) from Haas Automation Inc., an American machine-building enterprise, which is one of the largest manufacturers of lathes in the world in terms of production volumes.

Mikhail Kirichenko: Hallo! Here is Mikhail Kirichenko with you. You are watching SkyWay news, where we tell you about the developments and implementation of breakthrough transport technologies. Our today's piece of news is again from the production facility and we are talking with the workshop Manager Dmitry Zabrodsky, your well-known acquaintance, about a new acquisition at his unit. Hallo, Dmitry!

Dmitry Zabrodsky: Good day, Mikhail!

M.K.: Well, now it's time to blow your own trumpet about your new acquisition.

D.Z.: This is a lathe/turning center (processing machine) with CNC (computer numerical control). The machine is rather composite. It is designed to process composite rotating parts. For example, here is an article of a hub group at unibus, unicar, double-rail unibus. We cannot produce it with a conventional lathe machine. However, we will be able to make it with the CNC machine.

M.K.: Where was this one produced?

D.Z.: It was produced by a contractor cooperation. It means now we shall save funds and time.

M.K.: That means the operation "Cooperation" is coming to an end?

D.Z.: Yes, we are gradually getting out of cooperation and producing everything that is possible at out facility.

M.K.: As I see, the machine is being assembled now. When did it arrive here?

D.Z.: The machine arrived late last week. Today we are starting and adjusting it. They are connecting it to power and air supply. I think we shall start its operation in a couple of days.

M.K.: What does it have that is not available in a conventional lathe machine?

D.Z.: It is the turret head that has several sockets to insert various types of cutting tools.

M.K.: We have seen something similar in the 5-axis machine.

D.Z.: Right, there is the so-called load magazine for 40 tools there. It also allows to change tools quickly and process any parts of any complexity.
