Informational letter from the Chairman of the USSR Federation of cosmonautics N. Rukavishnikov

The Chairman of the USSR Federation of cosmonautics N. Rukavishnikov informs in his letter (in Russian) dated May 24, 1988 to the editors of the magazine "XX Century and Peace":

"On April 26-28, 1988, Gomel hosted the first all-Union scientific and technological conference "Non-rocket industrialization of space: problems, ideas, projects". The conference was held for the purpose of generalization of results and coordination of search, research, design and other works performed in the state and public organizations, as well as by individuals.

The concept of non-rocket space industrialization was discussed in 30 reports and about 100 speeches in the debate of experts from various fields of science and technology, professionals on international relations and military-political problems, economists, philosophers, sociologists and academics.

Following the results of the conference a comprehensive decision was taken (attached in Russian)".
