Floating station at an offshore section of STS

At underwater location of the tunnel at the String Transport System (STS), floating stations anchored at the bottom should be placed in approximately every 100 km. This will provide emergency exit of passengers to the surface and their evacuation by helicopters.

The optimal depth of locating an STS tunnel is 50 meters, i.e. below storm waves and lower than draft of the largest sea vessels.
