SkyWay and technological progress SkyWay is valuable not only for its world novelty, innovativeness and uniqueness, but also for its efficiency, viability and liquidity. In this techno-economic assessment of a breakthrough and branch-creating innovation, it is necessary to clearly understand the difference between a discovery and an invention. A discovery occurs when a scientist discloses phenomena existing in our real physical world, but previously unknown to people. For example, radio waves and radio emissions. While an invention is when already known technical and technological elements (on the patent language ? "significant properties"), based on a discovery, are used in a new combination (criterion is the "world novelty"), when they all together provide a synergetic effect (the criterion is the "inventive step", "substantiality of differences") and when they are useful (the criterion is "efficiency in comparison with analogues"). If all these criteria are present in a new technical solution, it is created at the level of the invention and a patent may be issued on it. For example, on the basis of the discovery of radio waves, the inventors then created radio, television, mobile communication, radio astronomy, etc. And in all of these areas for a total of 100 years there have already been created more than one million inventions. All these inventions were made on the basis of one discovery. And nobody knows, how many more will be made. For Unitsky String Transport (UST), the author - he is the patent owner, too ? engineer Anatoly Yunitskiy has already received more than 40 patents, including international ones, for more than 60 inventions, not having made a single discovery. The fact is that several inventions may be protected by one patent. For example, "Technology" (in patent language "Method"), "Structure" (in patent language "Device"), "Material" (in patent language "Substance"), therefore the number of inventions may exceed the number of patents. Consequently, only an illiterate person or an unscrupulous competitor (malevolent or envious person, Troll, etc.) can accuse Yunitskiy of not inventing something new, because it contradicts to all international patent laws and regulations of the world Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with headquarters in Geneva. Moreover, Yunitskiy submitted a number of international applications for UST through WIPO and for all of them patents for inventions were granted in a number of countries. There was not a single failure within 20 years of patenting. During the long and rich history of scientific and technological progress, many inventions were created repeatedly, or at least it is considered so. For example, Leonardo da Vinci is the author of such inventions as aqualung, winged glider, propeller, self-propelled wagon. Who would dare to challenge a significant contribution to the science of such inventors, as Auguste Denayrouze, the creator of the prototype of the modern aqualung; George Cayley, who have designed the first modern glider and lifted the man into the air; Louis and Jacques Breguet - the creators of the first helicopter, or Oliver Evans, who received a patent for a car in the USA in 1789. Who is going to appeal to debunk such legendary figures as Igor Sikorsky, Henry Ford, Louis Renault, Enzo Ferrari and Vincenzo Lancia, who seemingly invented nothing significant? Anatoly Yunitskiy never claimed that he invented or discovered a continuous pre-stressed span structure or repealed the laws of aerodynamics and other fundamental laws of physics. Dr. Yunitskiy "only" collected together the advantages of separate design and engineering solutions and did it in the most rational manner. He took into account the peculiarities of stability of compressed and stretched rods, pre-stressed and statically indeterminate structures (known before him) with the purpose of creating a new type of transport. And he did it not in order to earn money, but in order to save future lives and health of countless people, since today over a million people are killed annually on motor-roads of the world only and more than 5 million people become disabled and crippled. He did it also with the purpose to return to land-users the land, equal in area to four territories of Great Britain, "rolled" in the asphalt today. He did it so as to save for humanity billions of tons of hydrocarbon fuel by rational use of transport vehicles ? unibuses and unicars - as well as the track structure; by improving efficiency, reducing aerodynamic losses, selecting the optimal bearing - rolling of a cylindrical steel wheel on a steel flat rail (rather than the more costly and less efficient magnetic levitation), and many more. It is useless to look for similarities or borrowings of Yunitskiy?s solutions in other systems existing in the world. You can find the strings, and rails, and wheels, and continuous structures, and suspended transport systems, both double-rail and monorail ones. Anatoly Yunitskiy honestly admits that unique is the very combination of known design, technological or environmental solutions. And that is the complex know-how, estimated in 2013 at USD 400 billion by independent international evaluators. This is the basis of the greatest business, being developed not by Yunitskiy alone, but by research, design and engineering schools created by him, with hundreds of like-minded professionals in dozens related fields of knowledge - from aerodynamics, design and electronics to rigging, technological equipment and marketing. Tense debates go on about who was the first inventor of radio (Marconi, Popov or others) or telephone (Meucci, Reis, Bell or Gray), but this does not prevent world leaders of cellular communication to make billions of dollars in profits annually. |
