EcoTechnoPark: virtual tour of SkyWay cargo line

All those willing could learn about the construction of the urban and lightweight track sections at EcoTechnoPark from our previous reports. To continue the subject we offer a virtual tour of the cargo line. The General Designer of the SkyWay Group of Companies Anatoly Yunitskiy will be our guide. You will get to know the technical details of creating the track structure, plans for the near future and also the meaning of "three-in-one" on-site EcoTechnoPark.

Translation of the video:

Michael Kirichenko: Hallo everybody! You are watching SkyWay news, where we tell you about the developments and implementation of breakthrough transport technologies. In our previous video releases we have already reported on the state of construction at urban and lightweight tracks of SkyWay transport systems that are being built now in EcoTechnoPark near Maryina Gorka. Today we are going on a virtual tour along the cargo line. Naturally, your tour guide will be the General Designer of SkyWay Technologies Co. Anatoly Yunitskiy. You will learn about the technical details about its track structure, about the total number of traffic systems there. Running ahead of the story, it will be "three-in-one". I can also tell you the tour started with a surprise: the thing that seemed to me a combat elephant turned out to be a spider of alien origin in reality.

M.K.: Anatoly, we are now at the cargo route. Please tell us about the deadlines and about the things we shall be able to see here. We have already explained in brief there will be two types of cargo SW transport here at once. Now the floor is yours.

Anatoly Yunitskiy: Well, this spider of alien origin is actually an anchor support of the cargo route. It will be the central part of it. Over there, 200 meters away, there will be another anchor support. A truss structure will connect them. Then we shall have a U-turn with automated loading on the move. A U-turn will be also at the other end with an automated unloading on the move for bulk cargo. We shall demonstrate two versions of the cargo system here. "Two-in-one". It means the structure will be single, however, it will have two transportation systems. Cargo unitrucks will move along the lower level of the truss. They will have a small capacity - up to 5 tons for this structure. However, this capacity can ensure the traffic volume of up to 200 mln tons of cargo per year. For you to understand, it is the double performance efficiency of the Trans-Siberian main railway. This will be the first system, a suspended one, with separate vehicles. The second transport system is a product rundown line with an endless train running inside the truss.

M.K.: Something similar to a conveyor belt.

A.Y.: Yes, something similar, but not the same. This will be exactly a train, because a conveyor belt does not have wheels, it moves on rollers. Our design will have wheels and a drive. An external drive. Its performance efficiency will be very high, even higher than that of industrial conveyor belts, because we shall have wheels rolling on a rail. It means higher speed at lower energy consumption for trafficking. Therefore, more volumes can be transported at the same drive capacity. Well, the performance of this system can also be up to 250 mln tons per year. We shall also demonstrate it.

M.K.: Let us have a walk along it to feel its size. What will be its distance?

A.Y.: The distance will not be large. Together with U-turns it will be about 400 meters. It is not the distance that matters here. We have to demonstrate the principles of operation and work out operation duties.

M.K.: Loading and unloading terminals?

A.Y.: Right. I told about it. Up there we shall have loading on the move and back there - unloading on the move. They are terminals.

M.K.: Will there be turnout switches here?

A.Y.: The line of suspended unitrucks will have turnout switches. They are not needed for the endless train. The conveyor belt does not need them either.

M.K.: Now I see intermediate supports are installed. Previously we saw only the anchor supports.

A.Y.: Yes. This one will hold a truss. Moreover, a third version of transport could be arranged there. We can add a rail transport at the top. A rail vehicle. We can launch the legendary ZIL-131 truck that used to ride in Ozyory at the first test site. We can add that type of a vehicle on steel wheels at the top.

M.K.: The first generation?

A.Y.: Right. It was the first generation. It means we are actually making a "three-in-one" system. This is another intermediate support. The spans here are also 50 m long. These are our traditional spans. By the way, they are very large, because at conventional high-speed railroads and for magnetic cushion trains they have 30-35-m spans. 50 meters is a very large span. And we are passing along this span of 50 meters.

M.K.: What about the deadlines? When shall we have anything ready here and shall we see it at EcoFest on July 1?

A.Y.: We are planning to arrange the unitruck line at the lower level. We are manufacturing it now. The trusses will be in place by that time. Therefore, we shall demonstrate this part. As regards the product line, it is a more complex system. We shall not be able to finish it by July 1. It will be demonstrated in the fall this year.

M.K.: Now we are approaching the second anchor support. I wish all those dreams, ideas and hopes of you, the staff of SkyWay Technologies Co. and all our partners to come true. I think at EcoFest we shall see not only magnificent shows from actors, a contest of artists, etc., but also all these things we have seen today almost finished or close to that condition. I think we shall see it all in operation. Before we finish this report, please your wishes to our partners.
