SkyWay production facility The news service of SkyWay Group of Companies is launching a series of video reports from the production facilities of SkyWay Technologies Co., where professionals of the Company are creating the rolling stock for Unitsky String Transport. The role of the "guide" to the world of innovative transport technology will be performed by Alexander Sinkevich, Chief of special design technological Bureau with pilot production facilities under SkyWay project designing organization, who will tell in detail about a new high-tech equipment, production processes, and also about team work and non-standard approaches to solving complicated engineering problems. Today we offer the first release to your attention. Translation of the video: Mikhail Kirichenko: Hallo everybody! Here is Mikhail Kirichenko with you. You are watching SkyWay news, where we tell you about the developments and implementation of breakthrough transport technologies. Quite recently, we informed you about the new equipment supplied to our production facility, about the machines with computerized numerical control (CNC) installed here, about the personnel that was employed and trained. As we promised, we would like to report today on the results of this work, on the products made by them here. Our today's interlocutor is Alexander Sinkevich, Chief of special design technological Bureau with pilot production facility of SkyWay Technologies Co. Good day, Alexander! Alexander Sinkevich: Good day! M.K.: It is not by accident that we begin our talk at HAAS machine. This name is familiar to all the fans of auto-racing. It is well known that Gene Haas has created NASCAR team as one of its founders having his own team in Formula 1. You, as one of his colleagues and creator of several auto-racing teams, might want to intentionally introduce the most sophisticated technologies, the F1 technology into the production of SkyWay rolling stock. Am I right? A.S.: Certainly, basically you are right. Naturally, so as to create the transport of the future, even the nearest future, the high-tech SkyWay transport, we need a high-grade and high-quality equipment. Only by using high-grade equipment, we can produce high-quality components. The grade of equipment should always be higher than the grade of a product made on it. Therefore, at this stage we did our best to select the equipment with optimal features needed for us, with optimal quality of high grade and level to meet all our internal needs, or most of the needs. Certainly, it is difficult and, probably, inefficient to develop all the technologies at this stage. For example, thermal processing or some singular gear-cutters that we need. Of course, in these cases we apply cooperation with others. However, we want to produce the major part of the required components by ourselves. It will allow us to reduce the production periods primarily. Secondly, it allows to avoid any dependence on sub-contractors that live as per their schedules and plans. That's why, to solve all the objectives timely, we would like to have our own tools. M.K.: You mentioned the components produced here. Obviously, some of them are on the table. Please, explain briefly for those, who watched our previous reports long ago, what kind of machine it is and what it produces. Where is it used? A.S.: This particular one is a five-axle milling machine with CNC. Actually, it makes all the types of composite parts for vehicle body, the components needing to be milled in various planes. Its layout is rather complicated. For example, this a batch of parts being produced in the machine now. It is the body of a storage unit for a double-rail unibus, which is at the stage of assembling now. These rather complicated parts are actually produced with a single setting. After we receive a drawing from our project designing Bureau, it gets to our production engineers, right here, for processing and writing a program. It is rather a long and complicated process. The main thing is not to make any mistakes in it. Then a blank part is inserted into the machine. You push the button and it runs in an automated duty. Of course, an operator controls all these processes. He selects and installs the required tooling. However, during the operation the machine selects the tools by itself from a large feed magazine with forty various types of milling cutters. It chooses a particular tool for each particular operation and task. In fact, it is a completely automated duty. It allows to produce some component during the first shift. For the second shift, an operator may insert a blank part, push the button and go home. The machine will complete all the necessary operations by itself. I hope the range of such machines will gradually increase, because we also need a lathe machine with CNC. Similar to this one, as we have a lot of rotating parts - shafts, wheels, etc. They were produced by cooperation so far, but I think we shall take that part of components to our own production soon. M.K.: Thank you very much. This is not the only machine here. Let us go and see the other ones. |
