Anatoly Yunitskiy's interview on the results of the first day at InnoTrans The General designer of SkyWay Technologies Co. shared his impressions after the first day of the trade fair InnoTrans-2018 and the features of the high-speed unibus presented there. He pointed out that there are no analogues to this vehicle it was developed not by designers, but by engineers. This means that the exterior and features of the new unibus are conditioned by the need to obtain unprecedented characteristics of aerodynamics and efficiency. Translation of the video: Mikhail Kirichenko: Hallo! Here is Mikhail Kirichenko with you. You are watching SkyWay news, where we report on the developments and implementation of breakthrough transport technologies. We have here with us today Anatoly Yunitskiy, father and founder of SkyWay technology, General designer, SkyWay Technologies Co. He will explain better than me, where we are staying right now and why. Good day, Anatoly! Anatoly Yunitskiy: Berlin. We are conquering Berlin again, for the second time, at InnoTrans 2018. All the achievements in transport sector from the entire world are exhibited here. Although I have walked around and seen other expositions and they show the same things that were shown two years ago. M.K.: Only we are showing real novelties. A.Y.: Yes. We have exhibited a posh vehicle. When our German shipping company has delivered it here in a canvas cover, they said, "Belarusians have brought some rocket here." Yesterday people came to us asking to show them the rocket. A rocket is not an efficient mode of transport, therefore this is not a correct analogy. We are showing a unilyot, a high-speed unibus that accelerates up to 500 km/h. It's a unique vehicle. It has no analogues. If we recalculate electric power into fuel, this six-seat pod will consume 8 liters of fuel per 100 km. It is just like a conventional car. At 100 km/h speed. With the increase of speed, aerodynamic drag factor will rise proportionally to the third power of speed. Therefore, if the speed is increased from 100 km/h to 500, it will be 5 cubed. The force of aerodynamic drag will increase by 125 times. That's why it is not so easy to get high speed, as it may seem. We have an electric car. Its analogue is Bugatti, for example. A two-seat Bugatti Veyron costs € 3 million. Our vehicle will cost about USD 100,000 at series production. Unilyot will cost just like a car, like a jeep. To reach 500 km/h speed, Bugatti should have a motor with 3,000 kW capacity. Now they have a motor of 1,500 hp that gets only 430 km/h speed. And the consumption will be 100 liters of fuel per 100 km. That's why there are no analogues for our vehicle. Now we are exhibiting this beauty. It is made not by designers, but by engineers. The shape of unilyot is conditioned by aerodynamics. M.K.: And certainly blown up in a tube. A.Y.: Certainly. It was blown up several times. Cx = 0.06 is an experimental data. Bugatti cannot move without a spoiler, otherwise it will turn around. It has Cx = 0.42 with the spoiler. M.K.: It makes its aerodynamic features worse. A.Y.: Of course, it presses down its back part, otherwise it would fly up. We have improved aerodynamics by 7 times in comparison with this super sports car. At the same time, we do not have a car that rolls on asphalt with high resistance at high speeds. This car runs more or less normally at low speeds, but with speed increase its resistance is rising nonlinearly and greatly. For example, if we take a car accelerated to 500 km/h speed, about half of the motor capacity will go to the pneumatic tyre (500 horse powers and more) just to overcome road resistance. The other half will go to aerodynamics. But we have a steel wheel rolling on a steel rail. We do not have any airfoil effect, which also makes aerodynamics worse when there is a roadbed. Our shape is unique with two tails. It is my idea and, by the way, Japanese are applying it now. They do not refer to the author, although I have been speaking about it for some 20 years. There are my illustrations dated 2000 and earlier, where a train runs having two tails, aerodynamics is created in the tail and it is the most streamlined shape. That's why it is not a rain drop, there is no rain drop here. Its shape is absolutely different. It has excellent aerodynamics. And the second vehicle presented here stands over there outside. It is an 18-seat unicar, a wheel horse that has already passed several thousand kilometers at our EcoTechnoPark. It has serviced about a thousand passengers on August 4 at EcoFest. M.K.: I hope you will speak about it near it. I think it is not the last interview for our news service. By the way, many people ask if you are going to stay here for all the 4 days of the exhibition. A.Y.: Yes, I am. I have specially come here for planned meetings with investors and customers. I will stay here. M.K.: You have anticipated my next question. What is the purpose of this participation? Actually, we have already real target projects and real construction starts in the UAE. What is the purpose of this participation at the exhibition? A.Y.: Unfortunately, we are promoting our innovative product weakly. Look there, what Siemens and other companies are doing. They are spending huge funds on promotion. Watch the ads on TV. No one would buy any goods without such ads. That's why we should intensify advertising our product. And our product is not a motor-wheel, that exceptional aerodynamics or that cabin. No. In fact, we have to promote and sell a transport service. A service! More comfortable, safer, more efficient and more affordable. You see, there are no technical terms there. Neither steel grades, nor wheel diameters, nor motor capacity. All of it, including aerodynamics, is directed to consume less energy (fuel), to make the fare cheaper, to preserve the environment. Therefore, such notions as eco-friendliness, efficiency and affordability are the basic criteria for what we have to sell. We must speak about it. When the customer sees it, he starts to order our technology as a more efficient one. M.K.: Thank you very much for the interview. And at the end people are waiting from you for some last main habitual words. BUILD SKYWAY SAVE THE PLANET! |
