Unicar tests in climate chamber Tests in a climate chamber of the unicar in a tropical version U4-431-01. The brief results of the tests are as follows: an examination of all the main systems was carried out, and unicar withstood continuous operation for two days under the UAE's conditions. The following were tested: microclimate, electric motors, cooling system, hydraulic unit, control system, doors, equipment, multimedia. Ivan Romanenko, senior design engineer of "Composition" Design bureau, SkyWay Technologies Co., told about the details of the completed tests to our news service. Translation of the video: Mikhail Kirichenko: Hallo! Here is Mikhail Kirichenko with you. You are watching SkyWay news reporting on the developments and implementation of breakthrough transport technologies. In one of his latest interviews Anatoli Yunitski spoke about the preparation to the project in the UAE including his mentioning the tests of a unicar in a thermal chamber. We received a lot of requests to answer multiple questions on this issue. The best professional to explain it all is the design engineer of the "Composition" Design bureau Ivan Romanenko. Hallo, Ivan! Ivan Romanenko: Good day! M.K.: Tell us, please, how important these tests are. The temperature difference is not so great: in summer it is 2025°C in Belarus and 5060°C in the Emirates. The difference is approximately 40°C. How much is it important? I.R.: We needed to conduct these tests to determine operational capability of our vehicle particularly under tropical climatic conditions. It is the maximum temperature of +60°C. And also under the conditions of high humidity. M.K.: Is +60°C sufficient? It seems to me it can heat up to higher temperatures in the sun. Metal, plastics, glass. I.R.: Such tests were also done. We raised the temperature up to 70°C. M.K.: For what systems and units this temperature rise is most critical? I.R.: Primarily, it is very important for the system of microclimate, cooling system, as well as the interior. For example, if we practice an outside storage, a vehicle should not get overheated. M.K.: OK. Please, tell us some details and figures. I.R.: We carried out tests of the microclimate system in a thermal chamber at the temperatures up to 60°C. And we monitored the indicator at the duty when it is comfortable in the cabin. This is the temperature of 2022°C. We achieved the operational condition within 2830 minutes when the vehicle can be already put on the line with acceptable conditions in it for passengers. 2022°C. The requirements to this transport is 23° at 48° outside. We have easily achieved even better conditions. Also at the temperature rise up to 60°C, we could keep stably 2023°C in the cabin without any time limits a day or two. It was also important to check the motors of the vehicle so that they would not get overheated. The cooling system was responsible for it. We also managed it with a great margin. The motors did not heat up to 120°C under the real conditions as if we were riding. One motor was driving and the other functioned as a generator. We also tested the hydraulic unit, all the equipment in the interior that are very sensitive to a temperature rise. These are multi-media, computers, ICS, technical vision, interior camera. M.K.: ICS means Intelligent Control System. You please decipher it. Not all our viewers know it perfectly like you. I.R.: All these systems have proved their operational capability under high temperatures. M.K.: As for the temperature, it is clear. What about the high humidity? Did you monitor it? I.R.: Yes. We had 100% humidity at 35°C temperature. It even got up sometimes to 38°C. M.K.: So, you simulated real conditions existing in tropical climate. I.R.: Right. All the systems were checked on humidity. Everything operated without failures. M.K.: You haven't detected any problems at all? I.R.: Fortunately for us, no, we haven't. Everything was fine. M.K.: Well, after all these extreme tests, after the unicar got back to the assembly workshop, did you make any checking? Maybe, these tests affected it negatively. Suppose, it behaved itself well during the tests, and then, on coming back, some extra problems appeared at temperature drop. Did you check it? I.R.: On arriving to our Design bureau, all the unicar's systems were checked in operation. Doors, computers, motor, climate and cooling systems. Everything runs perfectly. M.K.: Thank you very much for your explanations. Sign up to our YouTube channel. Follow the news update at our official website. Support our project. BUILD SKYWAY SAVE THE PLANET! |
