Four years to the memorial sign “Zero kilometer”

A solemn laying of the memorial sign “Zero kilometer” took place four years ago in October on-site of a former tank range. This is where the history of SkyWay EcoTechnoPark, the center for demonstration, testing and certification of innovative developments in string transport technology began.

The memorial sign is a monumental and decorative composition, cast in bronze. Designers of SkyWay Technologies Co. have prepared more than a dozen sketches. Investors have chosen the best option. According to the authors, the memorial symbolizes the whole path of improving transport and roads.

Four years to the memorial sign “Zero kilometer”

The sign features a map of Europe, where Belarus took the central place (after all, it is from here that the string transport originates). The sign is fixed in a reinforced concrete slab weighing 1,000 tons, which also repeats the contours of the country. This is part of the foundation of the anchor support that later became a SkyWay passenger station. Thus, “Zero kilometer” gave the start to the construction of the world’s first truss string-rail overpass.

The laying of the memorial sign took place in an open field. Four years have passed, and EcoTechnoPark is absolutely different now. The thing that seemed to be so far away, is already embodied in life today, despite all the difficulties and obstacles. Please watch the video to recall how SkyWay test center was built and developed during that time.
