Cosmic vector of education: young astroengineers are interest in the options of space industrialization

From 16 to 17 November 2019, the II International conference “SamAstro-2019” was held at the Samara National Research University. More than 150 schoolchildren from different countries took an active part in it. This year the conference was attended by young researchers from Belarus. As part of the event, a student of the 5th grade Polina Voronko made a speech. Her research work on the subject “Exploring options for industrialization of near-Earth space” received a diploma of the III degree in the section “Cosmonautics”.

In her research work, Polina Voronko came to the conclusion that today humanity is actively, but unilaterally uses near-Earth space, mercilessly polluting it. Polina’s work is devoted to a pertinent and practice-oriented topic, in which she set herself the task of studying strong and weak aspects of projects on the transfer of industry beyond the Earth’s biosphere into space. In the list of projects under consideration, special attention is paid to the General Planetary Vehicle. And this is not accidental, because the author of this invention — Anatoly Yunitskiy — acted as a scientific consultant of the research work. On examining the project closer just a couple of months ago, Polina Voronko realized that it is the most promising one both economically and technologically of all the alternatives available today. As a result, the original theme of her work was changed to be closer to the subject of SpaceWay program for non-rocket industrialization of near-Earth space.

On November 25, a meeting of Polina Voronko and Anatoly Yunitskiy was held, during which the intermediate results of joint scientific activities were summed up. The young researcher received a personal diploma for her contribution to the popularization of the program on non-rocket industrialization of space, as well as memorable gifts.

Anatoly Yunitskiy also thanked schoolgirl’s mother Olga Voronko for her active participation in the organization of her daughter’s intellectual and creative activities, wishing her to achieve new heights in the scientific sphere.

As a result of joint scientific activity, it was decided to open a youth section at the International scientific and technical conference “Non-rocket industrialization of near space: problems, ideas, projects”. It is planned that scientific cooperation between experienced scientists, engineers and inventors on the one hand and young researchers on the other will be mutually beneficial and will work for a new perspective. In addition to periodic conferences and scientific seminars, the platform can also become the ECOSPACE site, which focuses on the development of modern advanced technologies and their popularization. One of the most important projects in this list is SPACEWAY, which aims at industrial development of near space by transferring harmful terrestrial production facilities beyond the biosphere.
