Prior to this, the most compact type of rolling stock - unibike - was tried on flexible and semi-rigid rails. The difference between various types of string rails was in the first place in the speed that rolling stock would be able to accelerate on them. A continuous flexible track structure, or flexible rail, can provide speed up to 150 km/h. Semi-rigid solid structure, or semi-rigid rail, - up to 250 km/h, and a rigid rail, or a truss, - up to 500 km/h. Rolling stock of string transport is designed taking into account the possibility of motion on any of the track structure designs depending on the necessity. |
